You can help us
NorthWay Community Trust wants to learn what people know about our work. We'll be sending a short survey to a sample of people in early March. If you receive a survey, please help us out by completing and returning it promptly. Your responses will help NorthWay improve our community work. For more information, contact Allan Malkis, Research & Evaluation Program Manager. Partnership investment proposals due May 5One of NorthWay's tools for community building is investing in partnerships with community organizations. These are not loans or grants but a coordinated contribution of resources, skills and efforts. To be considered for a partnership investment, proposals must address at least one of NorthWay's five long-term strategies: Building connections and capacity Creating community wealth Expanding affordable housing Addressing health disparities Broadening knowledge Sustaining NorthWayNorthWay gratefully acknowledges a gift from the Wells Fargo Community Support Campaign. This contribution is a result of NorthWay board member C. John Helgeland's pledge during Wells Fargo Annual Giving Campaign. Northside neighborhoods work together
The Northside Neighborhood Alliance (formerly the Regional Strategy Group) charged with creating a plan to give North Minneapolis residents a greater say in the area's development is making progress. At the February meeting, members selected Michael Berne of MJB Consulting to complete a market scan. Berne's scan will include analyzing various retail areas and their inter-relationships, and identifying the niches being served by those areas. He will work with a partner who will look at non-retail possibilities. During that meeting, members also talked about a core values statement being developed to help guide the alliance's work. Various neighborhood associations continue to review and approve those core values. Contact Louis Porter II, Outreach Program Manager, for more information. |
